UANL strengthens French Education with FrancÉducation Label

A total of 10 high schools received the Label FrancÉducation certification for meeting international standards of academic quality, innovation, pedagogy, and interculturalism in French language instruction.

The French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the French Agency for Education Abroad (AEFE), awarded the Label FrancÉducation certification to 10 high schools at Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL).

This certification is awarded to foreign educational institutions that offer enhanced instruction in the French language and non-language subjects taught in French. Since 2019, UANL high schools have participated in this network, and each school has renewed or initiated its certification process every three years.

UANL President Santos Guzmán López noted that currently, 18 of the 21 UANL campuses offering a progressive bilingual high school program in French hold this seal of excellence. He added that the institution’s high school campuses meet international standards for academic quality, innovation, pedagogy, and interculturalism.

“This result reflects the strengths of our educational model and the consistency of our collective work. Behind this achievement lies the commitment of teachers who innovate in the classroom, administrators who drive forward-thinking projects, students who take on the challenge of learning another language, and families who trust in education as a path to transformation”.

Renewal and Accreditation of Certification

High School No. 5 and the Mederos Center for Research and Development in Bilingual Education (CIDEB) received the Label FrancÉducation accreditation for the first time for their progressive bilingual educational model in French.

High Schools 4, 7, 9, 15, 16, 19, 20, and Escuela Industrial y Preparatoria Técnica Álvaro Obregón (EIAO) received the FrancÉducation renewal seal. In the country, the UANL is the leading institution in terms of the number of units holding this international certification.

The French Ambassador to Mexico, Delphine Borione, noted that the recognition is part of a shared vision for education. She added that this certification is the result of rigorous, collective work led by committed administrators and students who embrace the challenge of learning a new language.
