UANL broadens access to education

UANL President Santos Guzman announces the creation of new academic programs, including the School of Music's first master's degree, as well as three new bachelor's degree programs in education and cybersecurity engineering.

Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon began the August–December 2026 academic period with an enrollment of more than 220,000 students across its 29 high schools, 26 colleges, and eight academic units.

UANL President Santos Guzman Lopez welcomed the university community from the Zuazua campus of Preparatory School No. 1, “Colegio Civil,” a new facility designed to provide upper secondary education to young people in the Valle de las Salinas region.

He announced that the UANL has launched four new academic programs: a master’s degree in science with a focus on music education, and three bachelor’s degrees in education and cybersecurity engineering, offered in both blended and distance learning formats.

“Take advantage of the opportunities the University offers you,” he said. “We have new academic programs in technology, artificial intelligence, and specialized technical fields so that our students can be trained to meet current demand.”

In line with the remarks made by the UANL President, this semester saw the launch of 17 technical high school programs and two dual-track programs at 14 upper-secondary schools in the metropolitan area and in municipalities such as Dr. Arroyo, Cienega de Flores, Hidalgo, and Santiago.

UANL offers a total of 406 academic programs: 64 at the high school level, 103 bachelor’s degrees, and 239 graduate programs, comprising 75 specializations, 117 master’s degrees, and 47 doctoral degrees.

In addition to expanding its academic offerings, the UANL also increased its coverage at the high school, bachelor’s, and graduate levels with the inauguration of the Apodaca Academic Unit.
