UANL and CityU Celebrate Graduates
Nearly one hundred UANL students graduated from City University of Seattle with degrees from four international programs, preparing them to enter the global marketplace.
Building on the academic collaboration agreements established 15 years ago between the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL) and City University of Seattle (CityU), 93 students earned double bachelor’s degrees.
Eight students from the UANL School of Psychology and 85 from the School of Accounting and Business Management completed their studies with degrees jointly endorsed by UANL and the Washington-based US institution.
UANL President Santos Guzman Lopez, Coordinator from the School of Accounting and Business Management Adriana Garza Elizondo, and the Head of the School of Psychology Mario Alberto Loredo Villa, attended CityU’s 50th graduation ceremony on June 7 at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.
During the ceremony, Guzmán López noted that the 15-year partnership with CityU has led to a number of joint academic achievements. He emphasized that the 93 graduates from these programs embody UANL’s commitment to providing a world-class education.
This ceremony reinforces our commitment to offering more students the benefits of an international education and opens the door to new collaborative projects with our sister university in Seattle.

Since the agreement was established in 2010, more than 500 UANL students from the bachelor’s programs in administration, public accounting, international business, and psychology have earned degrees from CityU.
Adriana Garza Elizondo, coordinator of School of Accounting and Business Management, stated that this graduation ceremony affirms its standing as a global business school.
“The dual degree program equips students with internationally recognized academic credentials and opens doors to job opportunities around the world. Moreover, these young professionals carry with them the values and academic excellence that define UANL,” he said.
A global ceremony
City University of Seattle currently maintains a series of international agreements with leading universities in Mexico, offering dual degree programs and student mobility opportunities.
Since 2005, the institution has worked to establish and strengthen academic partnerships that enhance educational quality, enabling students to earn degrees from both institutions and take part in exchange programs that prepare them for the global job market.
