The livestock show was held in Houston. Señorita UANL G085 impressed the judges with its genetic quality, the characteristics of the breed, and its good performance.

Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon was awarded the Simmental-Miss North America 2021 thanks to the performance conducted with Señorita UANL G085.

The award was presented by Global Livestock Solutions President, PJ Bulder, during the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo 2022.

Ramon Guajardo Quiroga and Nelson Manzanares, Secretary of Agricultural Development and Director of the Center for Agricultural Production, respectively, received the award in Houston.

“With this specimen, we offer cattle breeders an improvement in genetic quality, reproductive techniques, and counseling on related issues”.

Señorita UANL G085 won first place with nine points, followed by Canada and the United States with seven and four points, respectively.

Genetic improvement in Cattle

For three decades, our university has been a national benchmark in beef cattle genetics. Now, since 2017 this is also true at the international level.

With this achievement, our institution has been able to market at auctions and fairs in 80% of the country, in places such as Veracruz, Tamaulipas, Tabasco, Oaxaca, Sinaloa, Sonora, and Yucatan. Meanwhile, at the international level, it has shared a herd of female cattle to Guatemala.
