Santos Guzman takes office as UANL President.

Excellence is our principle, and education, our instrument. This is the new motto that guides the administration of Dr. Santos Guzman Lopez, the new President of the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon for the 2021-2024 period.

Guzman Lopez was officially appointed on October 27 at the University Theater. There, the new President presented the main projects and axes of his work plan.

The Governor of Nuevo Leon, Samuel Garcia; the Chief Secretary of ANUIES, Jaime Valls Esponda; the Director of University Higher Education of the Ministry of Public Education (SEP), Carmen Enedina Rodriguez Armenta, and other politicians and educational directors attended the event.

Santos Guzman informed that in the coming weeks they will inform about the measures to be implemented in order to enrich learning technologies, with the aim of improving face-to-face education and increasing online coverage.

Another important action to be taken will be the arrangement of financing sources and funds that guarantee the budget sufficiency for UANL, he explained.

“I will negotiate with federal and state institutions the necessary funds to cover our educational and research activities; these resources will be managed efficiently, effectively, and, above all, with openness and accountability.
