Migration, a demographic challenge for Nuevo Leon

Since 1960, Nuevo Leon has received national and international migrants.

Addressing the demographic scenarios of the 21st century, and the decision of migrants to stay in the entity should lead the government and civil organizations to assume new responsibilities, stated José Alfredo Jauregui, a specialist in the field.

Since 1960, Nuevo Leon has received national and international migrants, due to the economic growth and job opportunities available in the state. A good example of this is a large number of Haitians entering the north of the country looking for a better future.

This implies a great challenge for the government, NGOs, and other institutions, for example, human rights organizations and humanitarian aid organizations, says Jose Alfredo Jauregui Diaz, a researcher at the UANL Institute of Social Research (IINSO).
