It is the first university hospital in Latin America to obtain this recognition, which validates the hospital’s quality and care processes for patients with cardiovascular diseases.
“This recognition honors the work of a team that has shown dedication and commitment to delivering high-quality care. It was made possible through the collaboration of all sectors of the hospital—medical staff, residents, nursing personnel, technicians, administrative staff, and volunteers,” added Flores Ramírez.
In a video message, Joshua Onia, the American Heart Association’s International Director of Quality Program Certification, recognized the leadership and commitment demonstrated by the University Hospital.

By complying with over 85 percent of the guidelines for cardiovascular patient care, it has achieved exceptional results, positioning the University Hospital among the world’s leading centers for the management of chest pain and myocardial infarction.
