UANL starts school year with new academic programs

The Maximum Academic Institution in Nuevo León has resumed classes, with an estimated enrollment of 220,000 students across more than 400 educational programs at the high school, undergraduate, and graduate levels

UANL President Santos Guzman Lopez welcomed the Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon (UANL) community at the new Academic Unit in García for the start of the August–December 2025 semester.

The academic year at UANL began on August 4, with an estimated enrollment of 220,000 students across its 29 high schools, 26 schools, and eight academic units located in the municipalities of Apodaca, Cadereyta, Galeana, García, Juárez, Linares, Sabinas Hidalgo, and Santiago.

In addition to growth in coverage, infrastructure, and campus facilities, Guzmán López highlighted that UANL has also expanded its educational offerings with 13 new technical, undergraduate, and graduate programs, surpassing the historic milestone of 400 upper secondary and higher education programs.

From Peace Culture to AI

Among the 13 new upper secondary programs, UANL will launch two technical high school programs in Gastronomy and in Physical Activity and Sports Management and Practice; both will be offered at Pablo Livas Industrial and Technical High School.

Four programs will be offered at the higher education level. The School of Visual Arts will launch a dual-modality bachelor’s degree in Media Content Creation and Management. The School of Political Sciences and International Relations will introduce a non-school-based bachelor’s degree in International Marketing and Digital Business. In addition, the School of Social Work and Human Development will add bachelor’s degrees in Human Capital Management and in Peace and Human Rights Studies to its offerings.
