UANL School of Architecture inspires creativity

The cultural complex in Monterrey's Old Quarter offers a variety of cultural activities, spanning from plastic arts workshops to an induction course at the School of Architecture.

Since 1996, the School of Architecture has been promoting the plastic arts through its Cultural Unit (UCA). Thanks to the Plastic Arts Workshops of the UCA, thousands of people have been introduced to watercolor, sculpture, ceramics, and other forms of artistic expression. This university center, situated in Abasolo and Diego de Montemayor in the Old Quarter of Monterrey and under the auspices of the School of Architecture since 1988, serves as an ideal location for learning these arts due to its beauty and creative spaces.

“Our workshops have been available at the Unidad Cultural Arquitectura since 1996. However, it is a vibrant space that consistently hosts exhibitions and maintains a full agenda. Various personalities, designers, and artists from Nuevo León showcase their exhibitions there. Now, we are expanding our workshop offerings to include certain weekdays, not just Saturdays”.

Professional services from experts

Cedillo Salazar highlights that the workshop instructors are specialists in their field, thus enhancing the value of the artistic education provided by the UCA.

“More than half of the workshops are led by professors from the School of Architecture who possess extensive experience. We ensure that our instructors have a proven track record and significant expertise, endorsed by FARQ,” she stated.

The majority of visual arts workshops at UCA are eligible for one Free Choice (LE) credit for regular students of the School, which greatly aids in completing their credits. Additionally, according to the Head of the School, these workshops cover topics that assist students in practicing relaxing activities.
