UANL President appointed Vice President of AMECYD

UANL President Santos Guzman Lopez was appointed Vice President of Asociación Mexicana de Educación Continua y a Distancia (AMECYD).

After the pandemic, universities adopted virtual and hybrid models, in addition to the traditional face-to-face model.

UANL President Santos Guzmán López was appointed Vice President of Asociación Mexicana de Educación Continua y a Distancia (AMECYD), a position he will hold until 2025.

The designation was made on November 25 during the official opening of the AMECYD UANL 2022 Meeting. The venue was the Center for Digital Education and Entrepreneurship of our Maximum Academic Institution.

Assuming this role represents a significant step for me because even though the pandemic forced us to offer online learning and today we are moving back to traditional face-to-face education, online learning must also be a pillar for universities, as well as for the growth of the development of their processes”.

He also highlighted that this organism was relevant two years ago for higher education institutions since it helped the country’s universities to continue with their work and strengthen their educational processes.

In this same sense, AMECYD President Rafael López Castañares, who officially appointed UANL President, stated that having hybrid and distance education models is a very valuable opportunity that must be taken advantage of today.

The Asociación Mexicana de Educación Continua y a Distancia has been working in this field for more than three decades. Among the main affiliated universities are Tecnológico de Monterrey, Universidad Autónoma de San Luis Potosí, Universidad Autónoma de Tamaulipas, and Universidad Autónoma de Zacatecas, among others.
