Carlos Manuel Alvarez (Cuba, 1989) is a journalist and writer. He is the director of the digital magazine El estornudo and contributes regularly to media such as the New York Times, El Pa\u00eds, and the Washington Post<\/strong>.<\/p>\n He was chosen as one of the best Latin American writers of the 1980s generation by the Guadalajara International Book Fair in Mexico.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n He was also included in the Bogot\u00e139 list of the best Latin American writers under forty years of age organized by the Hay Festival every ten years, as well as in the Granta list as the second best young novelist in the Spanish language.<\/p>\n In 2021 he won the Don Quixote International Journalism Award (part of the King of Spain Awards) for his article “Tres ni\u00f1as cubanas”, published by El estornudo, and has published two novels and a book of chronicles about Cuba.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" The fourth Anagrama\/UANL Sergio Gonzalez Rodriguez Chronicle Award was granted to Los intrusos, a work by Cuban Carlos Manuel Alvarez, at the Guadalajara International Book Fair.
