{"id":86403,"date":"2022-10-21T12:39:12","date_gmt":"2022-10-21T17:39:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uanl.mx\/?post_type=noticias&#038;p=86403"},"modified":"2022-12-07T13:09:39","modified_gmt":"2022-12-07T19:09:39","slug":"uanl-pioneers-anticancer-treatment-without-side-effects","status":"publish","type":"noticias","link":"https:\/\/www.uanl.mx\/en\/noticias\/uanl-pioneers-anticancer-treatment-without-side-effects\/","title":{"rendered":"UANL pioneers anticancer treatment without side effects"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Developing a new treatment or drug that helps inhibit the growth of cancerous tumors, but does not alter the health of patients, such as hair loss or the generation of dizziness or vomiting, is the main goal of the UANL Molecular Biology Laboratory.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uanl.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/entrevista-claudio-cabral-romero-responsable-laboratorio-biologia-molecular-fo-uanl-16.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-86404\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uanl.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/entrevista-claudio-cabral-romero-responsable-laboratorio-biologia-molecular-fo-uanl-16.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For the past decade, UANL has been evaluating the biological properties of lipophilic bismuth nanoparticles, a study in which Universidad Nacional Aut\u00f3noma de M\u00e9xico, Universidad de Monterrey, Texas A&amp;M University, Instituto Nacional de Cancerolog\u00eda (National Cancer Institute) and Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n en Materiales Avanzados (Advanced Materials Research Center) are also collaborating.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.uanl.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/entrevista-claudio-cabral-romero-responsable-laboratorio-biologia-molecular-fo-uanl-8.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-86406\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uanl.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/entrevista-claudio-cabral-romero-responsable-laboratorio-biologia-molecular-fo-uanl-8.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"338\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This research by the UANL School of Dentistry, entitled <em>\u201cUso de nanopart\u00edculas lipof\u00edlicas de bismuto como agentes anticancer\u00edgenos\u201d<\/em> (Use of lipophilic bismuth nanoparticles as anticancer agents), is currently supported by the National Council of Science and Technology (Conacyt) and holds a patent before the Mexican Institute of Industrial Property (IMPI).<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Furthermore, according to Cabral Romero, this clinical project is relevant because it is a unique study in Mexico.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Developing a new treatment or drug that helps inhibit the growth of cancerous tumors, but does not alter the health of patients, such as hair loss or the generation of dizziness or vomiting, is the main goal of the UANL Molecular Biology Laboratory.
