Postcards in Braille <\/strong>is a bilingual\u00a0edition that the author developed in New York in collaboration with translator Stalina Villarreal.<\/p>\n

New York Poetry Press<\/a> is a publishing house located in New York City, whose main interest is the Spanish-speaking community and the publication of books in Spanish. It also specializes in bilingual editions such as Postcards in Braille, by Sergio P\u00e9rez Torres, a graduate of the UANL School of Philosophy and Literature.<\/a><\/p>\n

The poet met Stalina Villarreal, a Mexican-Chicana, teacher, and activist who holds a PhD. in Creative Writing. She has translated this coded language called Braille into pure poetry. Now Sergio Perez’s poems are decoded and published by the New York Poetry Press.<\/p>\n

The writer was awarded several poetry prizes for his poems La her\u00e1ldica del hambre XXVI<\/em><\/a> Premio de Poes\u00eda “Ydalio Huerta Escalante” (2016); and Party Animals<\/em>, with which he was awarded the Premio Nacional de Poes\u00eda Carmen Alard\u00edn 2017.<\/p>\n

Recently, the writer released his first book entitled Los arco\u00edris negros (Editorial De Otro Tipo, 2020), in which he explored another side of writing by moving in other rhythms, forms, and structures of language.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
