This achievement reaffirms UANL&#8217;s position as a national leader in sports.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-101640\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uanl.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/UN20245.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>After 16 days of intense competition, the sports delegation from the Universidad Aut\u00f3noma de Nuevo Le\u00f3n emerged victorious as the champions of the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">National <strong>University Games 2024<\/strong><\/span><strong>.<\/strong> The event, held from May 12 to 27 in the city of Aguascalientes, showcased the outstanding athleticism and determination of UANL&#8217;s athletes.<\/p>\n<p>At the conclusion of this edition, the feline team stood proudly at the pinnacle of the scoring table, amassing an impressive total of 3,930 points. Additionally, they dominated the medal table with a remarkable haul of 164 medals, including 52 gold, 50 silver, and 62 bronze.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-101644\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uanl.mx\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/UN20243.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Tigres showcased their supremacy across various disciplines, excelling notably in athletics, fencing, handball, judo, and karate. They also demonstrated prowess in women&#8217;s wrestling, softball, and beach volleyball. In men&#8217;s wrestling, they secured championship titles, along with victories in chess and flag football.<\/p>\n<p>At the individual level, the standout performances of students Alejandra Paulina Ortiz (Law and Criminology) and Mayr\u00e1n Cruz (Sports Organization) deserve special mention, each securing three gold medals in athletics. Ortiz emerged victorious in the 100m, 200m, and the 4x100m relay events, while Cruz showcased her prowess in the 400m hurdles, 4x400m relay, and the mixed 4x400m relay. Their remarkable achievements make them the athletes with the highest medal count for Tigres in this edition of <strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">UN2024<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Diego Rosales made an exceptional mark in karate-do, clinching three gold medals in Kumite, individual kata, and team kata events.<\/p>\n<p>The Tigres delegation boasted nearly 600 athletes competing across 30 diverse sports disciplines.
