The EXCI test (English Proficiency Test) is intended for UANL students as a requirement to obtain their undergraduate degree.


Requisitos

  

1.- GENERAL CONSIDERATIONS
 
The English Proficiency Test (EXCI) is an academic instrument developed by UANL and theBritish Council to determine a student’s level of English.
In 2002, the Academic Committee of the University Senate agreed to use the EXCI test as avalid instrument to measure a student’s knowledge of English as a second language as stated in the Guidelines to Demonstrate Proficiency in a Second Language.
Therefore, UANL students may consider taking the EXCI examinationto demonstrate their competence in a foreign language and thus fulfillone of the requirementsto obtain their undergraduate degree.
 
 
2.- TEST DATES
 
UANL undergraduate students who wish to take the EXCI test can be registered only in the school where they are currently enrolled on the dates indicated in the following calendar.

 The CAADI of each school will coordinate the tests, and set the hour and the place to be held.

 

3.- REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
 
a.- The applicant will access the registration link (See section 7).
b.-Read the instructions, general considerations and recommendations on the Welcome to the Registry System webpage.
c.- Provide his/her UANL student ID in order to be registered, and validate the personal information that appears prior to the issue of the registration form.
d.- Print the registration form to verify his/her test appointment and read the comments therein provided.
e. - Pay for the fees indicated on the registration form. Payment must be made before deadline, otherwise, the applicant will not be registered and his/her money will not be refunded.
f. - UANL students that completed their studies before 2005 and the system does not allow them to register must bring an official ID to the CAADI of their school in order to activate their personal information on the system and be able to register.
 
4.- THE TEST
 
a. - Prior to the test date the CAADI of the applicant’s school will publish a list, classified by group, with the name of the students who are officially registered, the classroom location and the time for the test administration.
b. - The day of the exam, each student must bring an official ID, receipt of payment and his/her test registration form.
c. - The test will begin at the programmed hour, so the applicant must arrive in plenty of time.
d. - Access to the test will be denied when Section 1 of the test begins.
 
5.- TEST RESULTS
 
The applicant will go to the CAADI where he/she registered 20 working days after the day of the exam, andreceive a report indicating the scores obtained in each section of the test, the final score, and the test validity period.
 
6.- EXCI DIPLOMAS AND CERTIFICATES  
 
The applicant will go to the CAADI where he/she received the scores report and ask for the requirements to obtain the Sufficient English Proficiency Diploma or the English Proficiency Certificate.
 
7.- TEST REGISTRATION
 
Registration is made through SIASE online services. The applicant will access the UANL website and go to online services using his/her account and password to enter the site. If he/she is not an active UANL student, a password must be requested at his/her undergraduate school.
