Ing. Jose Antonio Gonzalez-Treviño is President of the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon, Mexico (UANL), one of the largest in the country. Prior to his appointment as President at UANL, he held other posts including Vice President, Vice President of Academic Affairs, Member of the Doctoral Committee at the School of Engineering, Member of the University Board of Regents, Dean of the School of Mechanical Engineering and Academic Secretary for this School.
Ing, Gonzalez also has participate in several academic projects, such as publications and research and development projects. Since 1996, has been participating as a leader for the integration of the University Vision headed for the year 2006 and beyond. He also has participation as co/author in the published Student Academic Guide, acclaimed as one of the most valuables references for the students of the UANL. Upon his creativity and intense educational work he proposed and created the Office of Scientific Research, the Office of Distant Education and the Entrepreneur Program which is oriented to develop the entrepreneurial skills in the students aimed to be independent professionals and business leaders.
One of the most important innovations presented to the University is the creation of the Associate Degree Program, which allows differential benefits for the technical careers.
One of the latest and most recognizable work of the actual President of the UANL is the initiation process for the vast majority of schools and colleges of both national and international accreditation for their study programs, which involves the national accreditation institutions as well as the international ones. This will deliver a secure device in the continuous improvement steps taken by the UANL.
Ing. Gonzalez continues with innovative ideas and the vigorous team work leaded by his principles of academic excellence to be applied to the UANL.
